Tough Cases.Net provides the finest questioned document examinations available

Questioned document examination is the forensic science of discovering information regarding said document. This includes but is not limited to aging the paper, aging the ink, determining the writing instrument, matching inks, etc. The most common aspects include analyzing the handwriting and typewritten text for alteration or forgery. This is the area, we at Tough Cases.Net specialize in.

We are proud to be able to provide our clients with the finest document examinations available today. We specialize in handwritten and typewritten forgeries. Our skills enabled us to solve the greatest document examination case in history; the Whitechapel murders, better known as Jack the Ripper.

No one else has been able to solve the identity of Jack the Ripper. Chase proved, beyond a shadow of a doubt, the true identity of Jack the Ripper; and he did it single handedly.

Mr. Goodwin utilizes deductive reasoning from his legal and private investigative background to assist in his case work. The added element of deductive reasoning, and working "backwards" to solve mysteries like a detective; enabled Chase to develop an accurate theory of the Ripper case. His original theory developed in November of 2002 was proven perfectly accurate when he was able to conclusively match his prime suspect to the Ripper handwritings.

This case exemplifies our great reputation for finely detailed document examination and analysis. Mr. Goodwin was able to identify about 120 matching traits between the Ripper documents and those of the suspect; thus clearly proving his conclusions. Many of these matching traits were so inconspicuous that Mr. Goodwin had to enlarge portions of the documents and then using a magnifying glass, measured letter strokes and letter portions at 1/128" increments.

After solving the identify of Jack the Ripper; I have concentrated my efforts on joining the FBI's investigation of the infamous anthrax letter case; still unsolved since 2001. However, the Ripper case too was unsolved for 117 years before I solved it. I am confident in my abilities and hope to be able to solve this case soon.

We bring these same skills and fine detailed quality examinations to all of our cases. Determining the validity of a document is only as accurate as the professional ability to discover the most fine and miniscule details within the document. The Jack the Ripper report which solved the case exemplifies this finely detailed examination. We bring this same skill level and quality to all of our cases.

My court qualifying resume includes two degrees and the Ripper case

My court qualifying resume includes two specialized degrees in both graphology and document examination. My reputation case is my personal masterpiece. It is the Whitechapel murder case of 1888, aka Jack the Ripper.

The proof of the identity of the Ripper is uncovered in an exhausting 1268 page document examination and graphology report. This includes detailed measurements of the suspects handwritign in comparison with the known Ripper samples. The handwriting was enlarged, and then from these enlargements; I measured letter strokes and portions of letters in 1/128" increments for accuracy. Angles were measured to within 1/2 degree. I discovered about 120 matching traits, including many which were highly to extremely rare and unique.

While some handwriting comparisons are easy to discern; the Ripper case was anything but. He had multiple master patterns and rhyhtms, as evidenced by the differences between the Dear Boss and From Hell letters. This was an extremely difficult handwriting comparison. It takes the greatest talent and skill to come to conclusion in this case. Only my superior skill level, persistence, and exceptional striving for perfection; allowed me to solve this case. The Ripper case baffled the greatest detectives and police force to this day. Many other experts and investigators have tried to solve this case, but without resolve.

Important disclosure: The Ripper report is held in confidentiality as the intellectual and proprietary property of Tough Cases.Net. It is available for review for the court, and the parties in any case I am hired to testify as an expert witness.

This report exemplifies my thirst for perfection and resolution. It shows my tremendous skill and expertise, and increases my jury credibilty over all other document examiners.

We are extremely credible and have the utmost integrity

Our credibility as a believable expert witness is predicated on our superior reputation. We solved the most unsolvable crime in history, Jack the Ripper; utilizing our superior graphology and document examination skills. You cannot find a more credible witness to testify for court trial. Solving the Ripper case enables me to be the most respected document examiner available.

Our integrity is without reproach too. We only report conclusions based upon the facts of the case and the documents; not the wishes of individual parties. We will never allow ourselves to be comprised. Our goal is to provide expert document examination and handwriting analysis to uncover the truth in any case we are involved in.

My personal demeanor adds to my credibility and believability as an expert witness should the case go to trial. [Only a very small percentage of QDE cases actually do go to trial] I am confident, forceful, firm, and clear in my testimony and would utilize specially prepared exhibits for trial.

We prepare clear and concise exhibits for trial

In the rare instances, when the case does go to trial; I would prepare special exhibits of the report which would best be suited for the case. This would include large posters, interactive flip charts, and individually prepared reports and exhibits for the jurors themselves. They are designed to allow the jurors to make a valid judgement from the evidence presented.

It is my duty to not only inform the court of the material at hand, but also to educate the court on the points being covered.

Important note: Remember, the best document examiners have the best exhibits. It is the visual exhibits which prove the conclusions. These are the hard facts of the case. Photographs don't lie and they are worth a thousand words. Since the proof of the forgery is in the document itself; it is these clear exhibits disclosing the details of the forgery which carries the weight of the testimony. Therefore, these exhibits are of the utmost importance.

A good document examiner proves his case with these visual exhibits. Basically, the testimony just focuses on explaining these exhibits.

We review the case with your attorneys and legal team

If your case does go to trial; then it is imperative to review my testimony with your legal team. It is my duty to brief and inform them on the salient points of my testimony. Otherwise, my testimony may not be too coherent. I explain the theories of my conclusions, so your attorney will know the best manners in presenting my testimony.

I explain both the positive and negative aspects of my examination and testimony; and review the potential cross examination I expect. I can prepare a special Q and A for your attorney to cover both the salient points of my direct testimony; and the expected questions from opposing counsel under cross examination.

Handwriting analysis used for criminal profiling

We are expert graphologists as well as document examiners. It was graphology, handwriting analysis, which I used to accurately portray the characteristics and personality of Jack the Ripper.

It was the document examination report which conclusively solved the case. Hindsight proved that my personality and criminal profile of the Ripper, utilizing handwriting analysis, graphology, was exact. I was able to identify specific activities which proved true and even predicted his profession accurately.

I can do the same for your cases. I can perform a personality profile of any person just from a sample of his or her handwriting. Criminals often leave handwriting or graffitti, especially with serial murderers. There is not enough satiation in committing the crime itself; they must publicize it to become famous. This adds to their satisfaction. Thus, handwritten or other communication documents are prepared.

Whatever documentation you have; we have the ability to analyze it for personality traits and can formulate a profile of the criminal.

Polygraph graphology can help solve your cases

Polygraph Graphology is rare but important facet of handwriting analysis. This specialty sub-field is used in the exact same manner as a lie detector test; but with one major difference. There are no legal intanglements with using graphology like with a polygraph test. The principles are exactly the same. A polygraph will hook electroids to the subject and test to see if there are any unusual reactions to the questions or the answers. These same reactions will also show up while they are writing about the incident; it shows up in their handwriting!

Expert graphologists like us can easily detect when the subject is lying.

The applications for this can be used to aid the police in criminal investigations where suspects decline the polygraph test, in civil cases, such as company embezzlement, and in romantic or business relationships.
