Jack the Ripper case file
I prepared almost 300 "cut out" samples

Once I had all the samples necessary to solve the case, I prepared "cut outs", small portions, blown up for intensive and detailed examination.

All of these "cut outs" are four times its original size. Finely measuring sizes, angles, letter portions, and formulating proportions were necessary to find enough matching traits to solve the case.

The Dear Boss letter of September 25th [first page]

Below are "cut out" measurement samples from the Dear Boss letter, dated September 25, 1888

[Chase Goodwin]

The 6 samples above are a tiny sampling. There are about 200 samples like these from the Ripper documents and I believe about 80 from my prime suspect.

From these samples, I formulated master pattern analysis spreadsheets. These are tables comparing sizes and/or angles of letter portions, percentage proprotions of various zones, slants, slant changes, and baseline anomalies that disclose the most obscure and inconspicuous handwriting traits.
